Accepting Powerfully

Practicing acceptance in our daily lives does not mean that we have to say yes to everything, that we have to accept others' bad behavior or that we have to give up our power. There is a belief that choosing a spiritual path means that we will never be angry, irritated, frustrated or disagreeable. We are human, those are human emotions and we will succumb to them on occasion. Practicing acceptance is an expression of our power and not a denial of it. And we will feel more comfortable with the process of acceptance when we learn to accept powerfully.

Accepting powerfully means establishing our boundaries so that we are so comfortable with who we are and what we want in our reality that we know, beyond doubt, whether people and situations are right for us or not. Then we are able to release those things that do not serve us. And, we can say 'no' without guilt or remorse because we know that we are standing in our power when we do so and are not in fear. And we do not have to justify ourselves, our actions or position because everything that we say and do is focused on moving forward on our path.

When we accept powerfully we are able to allow others to be and do who they are, without feeling obligated to take responsibility for them or to entangle ourselves in relationships or with people who will cause us pain. Sometimes a test of our ability to accept comes in the form of a lesson in making a choice to recognize and bypass a karmic lesson. Yes, it is tempting to engage with someone who 'pushes our buttons' out of a need to reinforce who we are or what we know. Can we accept others as they are and not submit to the temptation to change them, their mind or their behavior? Accepting powerfully puts us in the position where we recognize these situations and then choose whether or not we are willing to step onto that path.

Learning acceptance is a big lesson for many of us and we can often miss the point of the lesson because we get caught up in taking a stand to protect ourselves, not realizing that we are walking a path that we have walked before, either in this or in previous lifetimes. Acceptance is about us and what we want in our lives and not about other people. Our ability to accept powerfully allows us to choose the experiences that we are willing to engage in based on whether they serve our spiritual growth and are in our Highest Good. This week, look at a lesson in acceptance that you are experiencing. Can you see how you can accept powerfully, maintaining your boundaries, integrity and truth and letting go of those things that do not serve you? Finally, accepting powerfully can be practiced on an individual and a global level, for when we learn to accept powerfully we acknowledge that we are all connected, emanating from a single Source, traveling on a spiritual journey and are all one.

Blessings to you all!

The November article is posted on the Uriel Heals website and this month's message is about Acceptance. Practicing acceptance does not mean that we have to give up our power. Acceptance involves honoring our boundaries and being able to say 'no' to people and situations that do not serve our Highest Good. This week's article discusses how to practice acceptance powerfully. This week's Today's Children article discusses the dangers of labeling Indigos. Uriel's message this week focuses on practicing tolerance. Read the newsletter in Spanish at Zona Mistica. The link is on the Uriel Heals home page.

Lessons in Integrity
Many clients ask me whether the lessons will ever stop. The short answer to that question is 'no' because they never do. We are on a learning journey here and each lesson is a tool that helps us with our spiritual evolution. So while the lessons never stop, the types of lessons that we encounter changes as we evolve spiritually. In many ways, the lessons become less painful and difficult but only because we view them from a different perspective and have more learning available to us to recognize and address them. As we move forward on our spiritual path we have more lessons in integrity, where we are challenged to put our spiritual growth into practice, than tests that require us to gain more understanding. But while they are usually less difficult, they are still challenging because they test our ability to acknowledge our spiritual evolution and to react in different ways.

I was recently involved in a heated discussion with someone who challenged everything I do on my spiritual path. The temptation to engage in a lengthy argument and to defend myself was strong. Because I am able to read others' energy and know their intentions, I knew that her purpose was to prove me wrong and to change my thinking so that she could be more comfortable with me. And because she is a member of my family, I knew that our discussion would be repeated to my entire family. She was trying to engage me on level of ego and fear and the challenge for me was to respond with integrity, stating my beliefs and accepting hers without proving her wrong and without fear of disapproval or reprisal from members of my family.

Lessons in integrity happen when we least expect and are not anticipating them. They are delivered in situations where we have to 'practice what we preach' or 'walk our talk.' And the messengers can be any variety of people and situations where we must respond, in one way or another, with unconditional love, acceptance and non-judgment, while maintaining our boundaries and responding from the position of our spiritual understanding and not from the ego or fear. And that can be difficult, especially if the situation is frustrating, emotionally charged or public or where our initial reaction is to defend ourselves.

How do we recognize a lesson in integrity? In my experience that process starts with my own feelings-if I feel challenged or threatened by the situation or person, it's an opportunity for me to put my spiritual learning into practice. If my initial reaction is anger, it is definitely a test of integrity. Then the challenge for me is to address the situation within the context of my spiritual growth and learning. Do I really need to defend myself, is this an opportunity for me to recognize a situation or person that I need to release or is it an occasion for me to acknowledge who I am and accept my own spiritual evolution? Often lessons in integrity are for our own benefit and the other person is merely the messenger. When we recognize lessons in integrity we can address them differently and put our spiritual growth and learning into practice. Each time we do that, the lessons get easier and we are more aware of our choices and opportunities to do things differently.

Uriel's Message--Practicing Tolerance

It is the fear of others that creates dissention among humanity, stemming from a lack of tolerance for their differences. While it is easy for you to accept those who look, think and act like you do, those who are different represent a greater challenge. Do they need to become more like you to gain your acceptance? Can you accept others as they are and not feel threatened by their differences? Are you able to accept that each person learns and grows at their own level? It is challenging and even threatening to you when others do not agree with you because you internalize this situation and wonder whether you are right in believing and thinking as you do? If you can convince others to be more like you would you be more comfortable with yourself?

When you live in tolerance you acknowledge others' free will, their spiritual growth and evolution and the lessons that they must learn. No one can fully understand or appreciate another's lessons and the learning that their soul has agreed to undergo in this lifetime. Each person is on their own spiritual path and although you are all connected, you each have a different experience of and perspective on the world. Therefore you each see things differently. There is no 'right' spiritual path, just as there is no 'right' belief and perspective. Those who attempt to change others' behavior, thinking or belief systems are engaged in a power struggle that serves to perpetuate the discord which the Shift has come to heal. Tolerance is a primary requirement of that process.

But intolerance is not only expressed towards others; you can also be intolerant of yourselves. Do you accept yourself and acknowledge your own physical and spiritual perfection? Are you happy with who you are at this moment and aware of your own perfection? As with any spiritual learning, tolerance must be internalized before it can be expressed outwardly and put into practice with others. And tolerance of yourself is necessary if you are to be tolerant of others. When you feel threatened by others is it because you are unsure of yourselves?

Practicing tolerance will change the path of humanity's evolution because it will eliminate the need for conformity and the distrust and fear that arises from seeing others based on their differences rather than on your similarities. Remember that each person is on a spiritual journey that occurs on many levels. When you are tolerant of each other you accept others' perfection and see them through your spiritual eyes and the heart connection, not from the ego. Then you will see their differences as an expression of their spiritual path and will know that it is not something you must fear or be threatened by. As you practice tolerance, remember that each of you is an expression of divine perfection and in the eyes of the Creator there is only unconditional love for all. You are all on a learning journey and working towards the same objective, the healing of humanity and the expression of the Shift energy where love, where unconditional love, infinite abundance and peace will rule.

The Bridge Generations

There is a new generation of children in the world and they are known by many names, including Indigo and Crystal Children, Star Children, Light Children. Whatever name they are known by, they are a generation that we have never seen before and they have special needs, gifts and talents. The Crystal and Indigo children represent the new, higher energetic patterns that are arriving to change the Earth's vibrational frequency. This new series provides information on these children and the wonderful gifts they bring to the world. Along with their special gifts and talents, they also have certain needs and the purpose of this series is to help them and their parents find solutions to these needs so that Indigos and Crystals can do the work that they came here to do.

Indigos have a remarkable ability to see past the labels that society uses to judge others and to accept people as they are. They are one of the first generations to see past color, economics and class. Instead, they judge people based on their ability to accept, acknowledge and trust. Perhaps this is attributable to their status as the first generation to grow up with the concept of a virtual world, where they can be linked to global friends they have never met by virtue of the Internet. My son plays on-line video games with hundreds of people from every corner of the globe, some of whom he refers to as friends, despite the fact that he has never met them. This is part of the Indigo energy, the ability to recognize the connection in everyone and to see no separations. But we diminish their ability by labeling them, putting them into categories of being and behavior so that we can feel comfortable with who they are and how they can or should fit into society.

For example, in a recent news story on Indigo children, Indigos were said to have blue eyes. That is true of Indigos in areas where blue eyes are predominant, but the presence of the Indigo energy is global and Indigos can have blue, gray, green, or brown eyes. In identifying Indigo children, it is more important that attention is focused on their gifts and talents, not on what they look like. The emphasis on physical features is a form of labeling that can ignore a large percentage of Indigo children. More importantly, even the label 'Indigo' can be a source of limitation because there are 'bridge' energies that combine Indigo, Crystal and other energies and each of them can have different physical attributes as well as behaviors and talents. Too often Indigo children are labeled by their behavior, which can be difficult and are defined as 'problem' children. Parents are often advised to give these children mood-altering drugs to make them fit in. It would be more beneficial to look at the systems that they are unable to cope with, rather than bend their energy to fit expected behavior patterns.

All of this leads to the issue of labeling, finding a set of criteria to classify a group so that we know who they are and how to interact with them. It is a practice that has long been used to anticipate behavior and even discriminate against certain groups. We would do more to help the Indigo generation if we drop the labels and focus on what they have come to do and to facilitate the change process. Right now, many Indigos are just entering into the economic and social systems that they have come to work with. Maintaining an open mind about their physical appearance and behavior is important in not creating yet another label that they must fit into or battle. If we see them as having the drive, energy and ability to bring the change and healing whose time has come to a world that is both in need and ready, we will move closer to a world where labels are unnecessary because we recognize the one- ness of all.
