This week's messages
New Year's Intentions
It is a new year and a welcome new beginning for many
of us, following a year that has been full of challenging
learning experiences. Many people use this time to
develop New Year's resolutions, some life changes that
they wish to implement during the new year. For many,
however, New Year's resolutions last about two weeks
and then they are abandoned, forgotten or become too
difficult. However, with an understanding of
manifestation and some knowledge about how the
process works, it is possible to make life changes that
do not get abandoned or forgotten. And they can
become new patterns of behavior that can bring us joy
and abundance throughout this new year.
Instead of resolutions for the new year, we would be
more satisfied with the results if we looked at our life in
terms of what we intend for it to be, to experiment
with manifesting what we really want and to do so
knowing that because it is our intention, it will happen.
Instead of resolving to stop smoking, for example,
manifest your freedom from all addictions. Instead of
resolving to lose weight, manifest your intention to feel
good about yourself and how you look. Instead of
resolving to find a new job, manifest your intention to
be in the perfect job. And then do the things that you
need to do, including walking through the doors that
open for you, to make this happen.
Whatever we resolve or intend to change means
breaking habits, changing beliefs and creating new
patterns of thinking and behavior. Change will be
difficult for someone who intends to stop smoking, for
example, if they spend their entire day thinking about
the cigarettes that they are not smoking, instead of
doing something else with their usual smoke breaks,
such as reading, meditating or taking a walk. For
someone who wants to lose weight, joining a gym and
even hiring a personal trainer may be beneficial, along
with changing their thinking and dietary habits.
Someone who wants to change jobs or even careers
could investigate taking classes, finding a mentor or
learning to network more effectively.
Intention only works when it is accompanied by
activities, thinking and beliefs that support it. Because
while intention sets the energy, we are the ones who
act on that energy and unless we show the Universe
that we are willing to change, we may accomplish very
little in the way of our intentions if we try to manifest
change while maintaining the status quo. As you think
about what you wish to accomplish, manifest, change
or create in this new year, especially if it involves
changing a habit, belief system, behavior or way of
thinking, consider what you are doing right now to
create what you want to change. Now, what will you
do differently while the change is manifesting? Then, go
and do it. A happy, blessed, joyful and abundant new
year to all of you.

Who Wins the Race?
One of my favorite fables tells the story of the tortoise
and the hare. The hare challenged the tortoise to a
race, knowing that he was definitely faster and was
sure to win. Both animals started the race and after
achieving a significant lead over the tortoise, the hare
decided that he was so far ahead that he had time for
a quick nap. While the hare was sleeping, the tortoise
continued on his path, one step at a time. When the
hare awakened, the tortoise was so close to the finish
line that the hare could not catch him, even running as
fast as he could. And the tortoise won the race, much
to the hare's disbelief and dismay.
Whenever I become impatient with the pace of change
in my life I am reminded of that story and of who won
the race between the hare and the tortoise. Life is not
a contest and arriving first at the destination is not the
objective. It is the journey that is important. If we
speed along, anxious to get to the destination, we may
miss many things along the way. We can become
complacent, believing that we have time to get
sidetracked and even step off of our path. Like the
hare, we can even stop the journey entirely, believing
that we are assured of success simply because it has
happened that way in the past. And with the lessons
of the Shift energy that belief can bring about a host of
experiences that will remind us that the quickest path
to success is to stay on the path, even it appears that
we are just plodding along.
As we walk along our path, each step that we take in
the direction of the destination is a journey unto itself.
Sometimes, the fact that we are willing to take the
journey at all represents a shift in consciousness for us
and that can open new avenues and even change the
shape of the destination entirely. Just staying the
course, even if we do not seem to be getting
anywhere, is a testament to our faith in the process.
Because each step forward, taken in faith and trust,
can create a wider array of opportunities that may alter
the nature, shape and course of both the path and
even the destination itself.
As we move along our path our faith in the process will
be tested. If the journey seems to move too slowly,
remember the lesson of the tortoise and the hare.
Things are not always as they seem and those who
seem to move quickly and appear to be assured of
success are on their own path. Let them fly by. As long
as we stay on our path and ignore the temptation to
stray, slow down or give up, success is assured. And it
may come in ways that are much different from what
we anticipated, creating a winning situation out of
something that appears to be impossible.

Uriel's Message
The beginning of the new year is symbolic, a sign that
you have a chance to start from a new point. From a
Universal viewpoint, however, this opportunity occurs
with each new day. Nonetheless, the challenges you
have faced and overcome have made this is an exciting
time for many of you, as you begin to stand in your
power, to have more clarity about your life path and to
see life from a different perspective. You are limitless
and you can use that power to create limitless joy or
limitless pain. The choice is, and always has been,
yours to make.
One of the beliefs that you must learn to change is the
belief that life is difficult. It is only as difficult as you
make it or as you believe it should be. When you are
standing in the universal flow, life is truly effortless and
very easy. It is your fear, once your own boundaries
are reached, that stops this flow. These boundaries
center around how much you can have, deserve,
should have or even can have relative to the people
around you that limits this flow. Remember that each
has according to his or her beliefs and self-imposed
limitations. Everyone has the power to achieve
everything that they want. All they have to do is to
awaken to that possibility.
As lightworkers, you have volunteered to hold others in
the Light, to affirm their spirituality, as well as your
own, and to create a vision for the sacred relationship
that is possible between humanity and the Earth. This
does not mean that you have to limit your own
abundance and joy, for it is by living in abundance and
joy that you set an example of this possibility for
others. It is by embracing the totality of all that is
available to you that you show others what can be
achieved. Each of you is a hero and a mentor to
humanity. Embrace this concept, understand its
implications and you will have fulfilled your spiritual
contract with the Universe.
This will be a year of duality for humanity. While it will
bring many blessings it will also bring great sorrow. The
earth changes have begun and many will need your
light and faith to help them with their own challenges.
Learn to live a limitless life, embrace the abundance
that is yours when you simply surrender your will to the
Divine, when you allow the process to flow through you
and through your life. Be the light for yourself and for
others and you will light up the world.

Today's Children--and the Family
The new article on today's children is now available on
the website.
This generation is known by many names,
including Indigo and Crystal Children, Star Children,
Light Children. Whatever name they are
known by, they are a generation that we have never
seen before and they have special needs, gifts and
talents. The Crystal and Indigo children represent the
new, higher energetic patterns that are arriving to
change the Earth's vibrational frequency.This new
series provides information on these children and the
wonderful gifts they bring to the world.
Over the past thirty years the concept of the family
has changed dramatically. Where divorce was once the
exception, it is now the rule as more than half of all
marriages end in divorce. The 'blended family' is
commonplace, and are children being raised by single
mothers and fathers and even within gay and lesbian
families. The concept of non-traditional families is a
misnomer-there are more 'non-traditional' families than
traditional ones. And this is the family environment in
which Indigo and Crystal children are living today.
But it has a unique purpose. Because these children
enter the world with little knowledge of and tolerance
for existing social systems, they are learning about
family within these new multi-dimensional structures,
which are much more suited to their energies. And they
are also able to learn life skills in unique ways as well as
contribute their energies to this process. For example,
not too many years ago, fathers had very little to do
with the raising of their children and now they play a
much larger role in the child rearing process, especially
if they are single fathers, with sole parental
responsibility. Indigo and Crystal children came to
change the old male energy dynamic and they are
providing a gift to these male family figures, assisting
them with the integration of the female energy as they
learn to provide nurturing, instead of being a family
figurehead.
If we focus on how society is failing these children, we
are missing the point of this very important shift in the
social structure. While the traditional family unit is an
attractive concept, it is also a myth. That is not to say
that all families do not work, but that the dramatized
version that we have been led to believe is normal does
not exist. These children can thrive in these new family
units if we, as a spiritual community, look at how they
are contributing to the changes in the human paradigm
and offer support, instead of trying to fix something
that not only is not broken, but that never really
worked to begin with. As Indigos approach adulthood
and begin to reach childbearing age, they will make
decisions about their own family structures that may
surprise us. Not only are many Indigos not marrying,
some are having children and making a decision to raise
them alone, with no intention to enter into marriage.
Our existing social systems do not support these
decisions and it will be interesting to see the changes
that they compel simply because they will not conform
to existing paradigms, as have other generations before
them. We will help in this process if our concept
of 'family' can become more community minded, instead
of focused on the 'man in his castle' paradigm,
understanding that the changes that have occurred will
not be undone and that we must move forward with
these energies because they are the new paradigm for
humanity. And the Indigo and Crystal children, in their
own unique ways, will create a new 'normal' for the
family structure.
