This week's messages
Who Do You Love?
As we move through the process of love, learning how
to connect to and create unconditional love in our lives
starting with loving ourselves, we also learn how to
love others. Not with the romantic love we reserve for
our intimate partner or the love we feel for our children
or family, but the unwavering, unconditional love that
allows us to accept others, without judgment or
criticism, as they are. This is the love the Creator has
for us and one of our life lessons is to learn to give
and to receive that from everyone.
We reserve the use of the word 'love' for specific
people in our lives and for us that word means a very
specific kind of emotion. And we don't use it when we
talk about people who aren't nice to us. We tend to
either love or hate others, like or dislike them. But we
reserve our love for those who have earned it, who
deserve it or who we feel an attachment to. And we
can feel justified in disliking someone based on how
they treat us.
As we move through our lessons we know that what
we need to learn is mirrored to us in others. So the
person who is unloving, disrespectful and unkind is
not just being mean, they are teaching us something
about ourselves that we not only need to learn, they
agreed to do this so that they could teach us. We don't
have to like them but we do have to love them.
When Jesus said 'love your enemies' he didn't mean
that we had to extend our warm, romantic feelings to
everyone. The love he refers to is unconditional love,
which removes all judgment and criticism, is
detached and can separate someone's actions from
their being. When we look at others and can see their
light and divinity we have mastered the process of
love. When we can see a spiritual being in everyone
we can give to others what we are seeking from the
Source. We must be willing to give to others what we
want to receive if we are to learn and live our lives
through the process of love.

Practice Compassion
Like most adult Indigos, I have always had a difficult
relationship with my mother. And it has taken me
many years to forgive her and to accept that she did
the best she could, no matter what opinions I had
about the matter. A few weeks ago I was told that it
was important that I extend compassion to her at this
time. So I made an effort to do so and was rewarded
with tremendous healing in that relationship.
My mother is widowed and is alone for the first time in
her life. It is very difficult for her as she does not make
friends easily, does not like doing things alone and is
not very outgoing. The worst time for her is Sunday
afternoons, when she goes home after church and
has nothing to do. I am always busy, with lots of social
contacts and I enjoy being alone on Sundays. But for
the past few weeks I have invited my mother to my
house or gone somewhere with her so that her
Sunday afternoons are always occupied. And today
she did something that she has never done before,
she thanked me for spending that time with her and
told me how much she appreciated it.
We can spend much of our lives learning about and
studying spirituality but that is not enough. We must
practice our spirituality, extending what we have
learned to what we do and how we interact with
others. And we may have to do it with people who have
not always been understanding, compassionate or
acted in a spiritual way with us. Being compassionate
with others is a great spiritual gift that we can give to
them and it is a way of showing ourselves and the
world that we are 'walking our talk'.
Our spiritual journey may be an individual one but as
Lightworkers and teachers we will show the world the
true meaning of spirituality when we are able to share
what we know with everyone, including people we may
not want to. A small act of compassion, which means
extending understanding and unconditional love to
someone without judgment, criticism or expectation,
will bring us great rewards and will show others what
it means to walk in the light. This week, show
someone an act of compassion. That may be as
simple as smiling at a tired store clerk, saying 'thank
you', or letting someone know how much you
appreciate them. You will be spreading your light and
showing the world what it means to receive
unconditional love. Your simple act of compassion will
spread your light to the world, which is what you came
here to do.

Uriel's Message-- Unconditional Faith
When you are separate from your Source connection
you experience the spiritual world as something
outside of your reality. With a material focus, you have
faith in that which you can see or touch. An integrated
focus that includes both the spiritual and material
requires faith, knowing that what you cannot see is
there and is always available to you. The rewards of
faith are the abundance, unconditional love, peace
and joy that you desire and seek. To receive the
rewards of faith you must have unconditional faith.
Unconditional faith means believing without doubt or
fear. Your faith is not based on achieving the results
that you desire but simply trusting that the Universe is
always working on your behalf. You have no
judgments or expectations and are detached from
every aspect of any situation. Any time you introduce
doubt or fear you stop the unfoldment of a situation so
that the true result, that which you desired, is no
longer available to you. The process will be
suspended until you address and resolve the doubt or
fear that interferes with your faith.
With unconditional faith you know that you are always
working with the Universe, and it with you. It does not
matter what something appears to be, it will become
what your level of faith allows it to become. Your faith
allows you to believe and to know that all things are
possible for you, without exception. It does not matter
where you are in this moment, the next one can bring
rewards that you could not envision for yourself. Each
time you stop having faith in yourself, in the Universe
and in its desire to bring you your heart's desire, you
create limitations.
Having unconditional faith requires courage in the
face of fear and doubt, especially when things appear
to be going in the wrong direction. Your faith will be
tested by situations where you must be powerful. It will
be tested when you must believe that you deserve the
abundance that you are receiving. And it will be tested
when it appears that all of your support has left you.
But your faith will always be rewarded by receiving the
abundance that is yours by divine right, the fulfillment
of your heart's desires and the unconditional love that
is always available to you.

Today's Children--The Adult Indigo Relationship Crisis, Part 2
Last week's article generated some interesting
feedback and questions, which I will address in this
continuation of the article about adult Indigo
relationships. Indigos have introduced new ways of
looking at relationships, which is creating some
interesting situations. Many adult Indigos have been
without romantic relationships for some time and
others are ending those they are in. Both men and
women are looking at relationships differently and are
putting more pressure on their partners to meet their
needs. This is very different from what we learned
from our parents and it is new relationship territory
that has thrown out the old paradigms before new
ones could be created. And most of us are in
relationship limbo.
Women are aware of their needs and are demanding
that they be met. Gone are the days when we are
content to be someone else's wife and mother, now
we want equal time and affection. For men who were
raised with fathers who were emotionally distant,
having to be an affectionate, emotionally aware
partner is a new demand that they struggle to fulfill.
And women are more financially secure and
independent, so if their needs are not met they are no
longer afraid to leave.
Men are struggling with their own emotional issues.
Many adult Indigo men are more sensitive and
emotional than their fathers were. They are also going
through their own identity issues at this time and
ending a part of their lives in which they did what they
were 'supposed' to do and now want to live in a way
that makes them happy. If their partner is not
supportive of their efforts they will simply shut down
and become emotionally unavailable or leave.
Both men and women don't always know how to deal
with this different relationship energy. And after
several failed relationships they will just assume that
this part of their life is over and they won't have
another one. But that is not the best solution although
it's a typical Indigo response to something that does
not appear to be working. Communication is
important and we must be willing to be open and
honest about our needs and allow the other person to
work towards meeting them. It takes courage to tell
someone what we need and then wait for them to
respond. All relationships with Indigos, both children
and adults, require strong and honest communication
to succeed. When we learn to talk to each other we
can find ways to resolve our problems so that
everyone gets what they need and everyone is happy.
That is the best use of Indigo energy.
