Judging the Journey
From the time we are very young our physical
appearance, learning, gifts, skills and talents are
judged as being good or bad relative to how they
compare to those of other people. So it is not
surprising that as adults we use similar methods of
comparison for proof of how we are progressing on
our spiritual journey. But although we are all
connected each of us is on an individual journey and
when we judge the journey we are forgetting that this
is a journey without a destination, so there is no way
to be as good as or better than anyone else.
Each of us measures our personal success in
different ways. For some being successful means
having financial abundance, for others it is emotional
satisfaction, for some it is having a rewarding career
and others it is achieving a certain lifestyle. How do
we judge ourselves if we view any of those things as
being a measure of success and we don't have
them? Where do we put our spiritual success in the
mix? Does it come after our material success has
occurred or before? How we look at our spiritual
success relative to our material success is important
to knowing whether we will judge our journey as being
successful.
We do not have to abandon the material world in order
to be spiritual-that is an old paradigm. Our journey
towards wholeness calls us to incorporate all aspects
of our being into our journey so that we have success
in all areas of our life. Judging our journey, whether
our judgment is with ourselves alone or includes how
we view others, puts an additional burden on us, one
that we cannot meet. Our path includes our lessons,
karma, history and life purpose and it cannot be
compared in any way or judged relative to someone
else's.
If you feel that you are not progressing on your journey
as quickly as you should or in the same way as
someone else, remember that this is your journey and
it is unique to you. No one else shares your unique
history so it is not possible for you to move more
quickly or more slowly than anyone else. If you are
feeling stuck, perhaps there is a lesson there for you.
What do you need to learn and what is its value in your
life? Appreciate and value your journey towards
wholeness for each step on it is important to your
soul's growth. See yourself as making progress, every
day, and know that you are moving forward at the pace
that is best and right for you.

The Kindness of Others
A friend shared this wonderful story with me last week
and I want to share it with you because it shows that
there are some wonderful, kind and caring people in
the world. We don't always hear about the kindness,
services and goodness of others and this story
highlights that. Here it is:
Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day
after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was
crying and talking about how much she missed
Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so
that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize
her. She dictated and I wrote: Dear God, Will you
please take special care of our dog, Abbey? She died
yesterday and is in heaven. We miss her very much.
We are happy that you let us have her as our dog even
though she got sick. I hope that you will play with her.
She liked to play with balls and swim before she got
sick. I am sending some pictures of her so that when
you see her in heaven you will know she is our special
dog. But I really do miss her. Love, Meredith Claire
P.S. Mommy wrote the words after I told them to her.
We put that in an envelope with two pictures of Abbey,
and addressed it to God in Heaven. We put our return
address on it. Then Meredith stuck some stamps on
the front (because, as she said, it may take lots of
stamps to get a letter all the way to heaven) and that
afternoon I let her drop it into the letter box at the post
office. For a few days, she would ask if God had gotten
the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday
there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our
front porch. Curious, I went to look at it. It had a gold
star card on the front and said "To Meredith" in an
unfamiliar hand. Meredith took it in and opened it.
Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers, "When a Pet Dies".
Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had
written to God, in its opened envelope (which was
marked Return to Sender: Insufficient address). On
the opposite page, one of the pictures of Abbey was
taped under the words "For Meredith" We turned to the
back cover, and there was the other picture of Abbey,
and this handwritten note on pink paper:
Dear Meredith, I know that you will be happy to know
that Abbey arrived safely and soundly in Heaven!
Having the pictures you sent to me was such a big
help. I recognized Abbey right away. You know,
Meredith, she isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here
with me--just like she stays in your
heart--young and running and playing. Abbey loved
being your dog, you know. Since we don't need our
bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets so I can't
keep your beautiful letter. I am sending it to you with
the pictures so that you will have this book to keep and
remember Abbey.
One of my angels is taking care of this for me. I hope
the little book helps. Thank you for the beautiful letter.
Thank your mother for sending it. What a wonderful
mother you have! I picked her especially for you. I send
my blessings every day and remember that I love you
very much. By the way, I am in heaven but wherever
there is love, I am there also. Love, God and the
special angel who wrote this after God told her the
words. As a parent and a pet lover, this is one of the
kindest things that I've ever experienced. I have no way
to know who sent it, but there is
some very kind soul working in the dead letter office.

Uriel's Message-- Holding the Energy
Each thought, word and action that you have has a
vibrational energy that is manifested in your reality. So
everything in your reality is a reflection of what you
have been thinking, saying and doing. As you focus
your energy on creating the reality that you desire, the
immediate results may not be what you want. And the
people around you may appear to be working against
you. This is not because you are doing the wrong
thing; it is a challenge to you to hold the energy of what
you want, no matter what appears to be happening
around you.
When you create change in your world that change
resonates all around you, affecting every person and
situation. Sometimes those situations appear to
become worse before they get better. People may not
respond to the changes you make in your life in
helpful or positive ways. But you must allow these
situations the time they need to adapt to the changes
you are making.
It is difficult to continue to hold the energy for what you
want when it does not manifest immediately. And
when those you love respond negatively you may feel
that you are making a mistake. Be compassionate
with them and let them choose whether they are able
to meet the new vibrations that you are creating in your
life, or not. They have connected with you at a certain
level and now you are challenging them to move to
other levels. They may choose not to do this.
The effects of your decision to stand in your power and
focus your intention on creating change in your reality
resonate to every aspect of your life and beyond.
Some of these changes manifest quickly, others take
time. Your challenge is to hold the energy of what you
want, no matter what happens around you. Every
aspect of your reality and every person around you will
move to resonate with the new vibration or they will fall
away and be replaced with something that can. Hold
the energy, know that the Universe responds to your
every wish and allow change to occur knowing that
whatever leaves is replaced with something that
resonates perfectly with what you have asked for.

Today's Children--Indigos and Life Skills
Although I have been an adult for many years there are
times when I feel that life is simply too complicated.
There are too many rules, procedures and processes
that I must be familiar with in order to successfully
manage my daily life. These are things that I know
because I have done them for a while. And I have
been trying to teach my Indigo children these life skills
for some time and they just don't seem to get it. They
depend on me for help far more than I ever asked my
parents for help.
This has nothing to do with their intelligence because
they are very smart. I believe that Indigos have
problems managing these complex issues for several
reasons. First, they find them boring and they don't
like to deal with things that are boring. Then they have
to deal with rules, which they don't do well. And they
are always looking for an easier, simpler way to do
things and if they can't they just forget about it.
Most importantly, though, is the fact that they don't like
to be embarrassed or to acknowledge that they can't
do something so they won't ask for help when they
really need it. That's when our ability to communicate
with our Indigo children and to be aware of what is
going on in their lives is important. They are smart
enough to learn once they have been shown-even if
they won't ask for our help the first time. So we have to
be aware that we may have to take them to a
government office and help them with procedures, at
least once. Or we may have to 'volunteer' to go with
them for moral support when they need to do
something. They may be grateful for our presence
even if they don't say so.
Indigos have come to change the way things are done
and they will eventually simplify life for everyone. But at
this time most of them are still too young to make a
big difference. And they have to experience the
complications to know what needs to be changed. So
instead of allowing them to struggle and become
frustrated, we will help them and ourselves by
knowing when they need our help and walking them
through the processes they need to learn to manage
their lives so they can understand how to function in
our complicated world. They will make changes at the
right time.
