Our Material Beliefs
We are told that our reality, the world we live in, is an
illusion. How can that be? We can see, touch, taste
and smell it so it must be real. From our perspective
our reality is static and very solid. Yet from a spiritual
perspective reality is a dynamic system that can
change in an instant. Our material reality is merely a
mirror of our beliefs. When we change our beliefs we
change our reality. And it can change in an instant
when we know how our material beliefs interact with
our reality.
In order to understand how our material beliefs affect
our reality we must understand what they are. Our
material beliefs include every aspect of our lives on
the material plane, beginning with what we believe
about ourselves. How many of us take the time to
consider what we think about ourselves? We know
what we think about others, including our family,
friends, partners, the latest popular movie star, our
politicians, but when do we ever just sit still and
consider 'me'?
Most of our beliefs about ourselves are formed by our
past experiences and the opinions of others.
Changing them takes time, practice and patience. And
once we turn our attention to what we want to be and
do, we may encounter some resistance. In the Miracle
Coaching program I call this the 'inner voice'
and 'outer voice'. When our outer voice wants to take a
chance our inner voice reminds us of past failures,
mistakes and our fears. Learning to bring those into
balance, so that both voices agree that we can do
whatever we want to do, will help us create the reality
of our dreams.
Taking time out of a busy schedule to just think about
our self may seem like a waste of time but it is the first
step to understanding how our material beliefs affect
our reality. We become what we think about and our
reality reflects that back to us. Changing our reality is
as simple as changing our material beliefs, how we
think about ourselves. This week, take some time to
think about how you feel about yourself. What do you
think of your skills, talents and gifts? Do you know
what they are? What do you not like about your reality
and what beliefs do you have that support it? Then,
change your beliefs, as you can, to create the reality
that you want. You will find that once you begin to
focus on what your beliefs are you will understand the
connections and create the change you desire.

Spiritual Arrogance
Many years ago I had a spiritual teacher who was
always willing to share her knowledge with others. But
she did it in a way that reinforced how much she knew
and how little we knew and by providing information in
a way that did not allow us to voice our own opinions
or thoughts. I always left her feeling that I would never
know as much as she did and thinking that she was
very arrogant in the way she taught. As I have moved
into my own role as a teacher, the memory of how I felt
when working with my former teacher have helped me
present knowledge in a way that helped others in a
positive way.
But a few weeks ago my own guides pointed out to
me how I had been arrogant with someone in my life
who I had been trying to help, because he asked for it,
but getting frustrated because he didn't seem to be
learning anything. Instead of standing by and allowing
him to learn at his own pace and to come to me when
he felt he was ready for additional knowledge, I kept
giving him opportunities to learn until we stopped
speaking to each other.
I didn't do this deliberately but because I could
visualize the results that his learning could achieve for
him. What I forgot was that until he could see that
vision for himself, my trying to force him to see his
world my way was a form of spiritual arrogance. In
essence, I knew what was best for him. Sometimes
our intuitive abilities get in the way when we are trying
to help others, when we can see the results of the
healing and want to push them towards it as quickly
as we can. But each of us learns at our own pace.
As teachers we been through our own lessons and for
many of us that learning has occurred over several
decades. We can forget that we also took our time to
learn our lessons, sometimes repeating them many
times before we finally understood. When we work
with others we must remember that they will learn as
they are ready and giving them more knowledge or
what we think is best for them is not the solution and
in doing so we will be practicing a form of spiritual
arrogance that will not allow the learning and healing
to occur. No matter how much we believe we can help
or teach someone and no matter how strong our
vision of what is possible for them is, they will learn as
much as they can and will move forward when they
are ready, just as we did.

Uriel's Message--Receiving What You Need from Others
In every interaction with others each person receives
exactly what they need from the other. Whether these
interactions are loving or full of fear, make you feel
good or bad, you each receive what you need from
someone else. And they receive what they need from
you. As everything in your life is part of your lesson
here, every person in your life has something to teach
you and you to teach them, no matter how brief the
encounter. If you believe that only the situations that
have a positive, loving outcome are valuable and
worthy of your time, you may be missing some of your
most important learning experiences.
It is not the easy experiences that provide you with the
most learning, but the most difficult. These are the
ones where you must look for the lessons, to see past
your own fears and indeed, to understand how this
person can awaken such fear in you. These lessons
provide you with a mirror of the darkest aspects of your
human experience, of your need for healing. You can
be grateful to those who provide you with these
experiences for they are giving you a wonderful gift.
Those who you feel have the most to learn can often
show you where your lessons are too. There are no
accidents, nothing that occurs without a healing
purpose. You can find the lessons in every situation
when you remember that the purpose of your journey
is healing and reconnection, nothing more. Each of
you is a mirror for everyone, just as they are a mirror
for you. When you do not like what you see, remember
that you are looking in a mirror.
Once you acknowledge that you have received what
you need from someone, the dynamics of the
relationship can change or it can end. There is no
need to allow difficult relationships to continue and
they do because neither person can learn what they
need and allow the dynamics to change. Conflict on
all levels of human experience can end when each
person can receive what they need from someone
and then let them go. This week, consider a difficult
relationship that you are experiencing. What do you
need from that person and what do they need from
you? Is it understanding, forgiveness,
acknowledgement of fear, unconditional love,
changing beliefs? Once you acknowledge what you
need from that situation and accept it, you can let it go
and each move forward on your path.

Today's Children--Adult Indigos and Midlife Crisis, Part 2
Last week's article generated much feedback from
many grateful adult Indigos and Crystals who were
happy to receive validation of feelings they have had
for a long time but either did not understand or were
not able to articulate. Many wrote and described their
frustration about being stuck in situations, including
jobs, careers, relationships or their general life
experience and their fear that they would never be able
to move forward.
Unlike the midlife crisis that we used to see in film,
where a man leaves his wife for a younger woman,
the midlife crisis that Indigos face has to do with
reconnecting to that part of themselves where they feel
real, valued and successful. This is a process that
has to do with 'being' and less with 'doing'. Adult
Indigos, like the younger Indigo generation, are not
always able to fit into the world so creating a space
where they can feel good about themselves and what
they are doing is important. And during the midlife
crisis it reaches critical mass.
Some of the emails I received asked the same
question 'So what do I do about it?' And the same
response went to them, 'What do you want to do?'
One of the things that I noticed when I turned 40 was
that what the world thought of me was no longer
important to me. I no longer cared. Before we reach
that point, though, we will spend a lot of time worrying
about what others think of us and what we do. Then,
when we get to the point where that no longer matters,
we can start doing what we want.
The midlife crisis is very real and it is causing many
people to sometimes act hastily and foolishly, running
away from their life to find happiness somewhere
else. That's certainly an option but not the best one.
Instead, doing some inner work, discovering our
talents and gifts and going past our fears and beliefs
of what will and not sustain us financially, will help us
find the solution that will take us out of our midlife
crisis into the life we enjoy waking up to every day.
