Choices and The past
What is it about the past that keeps its hold on us in
the present? Is it our urge to go back and change what
once was to create a different outcome, or is it the
desire for vindication, know that despite what
happened, we are valuable, lovable and successful?
The past is a strange phenomenon that stays in our
memory, reminding us of what once was and who we
once were, usually in the most negative light. The
strongest memories of the past are those which remind
us of when we were less than perfect or had a less
than desirable outcome. It is these memories that also
affect the choices that we make in the present and
can hinder us from making any choice at all.
When our focus is on what happened in the past we
are unconsciously making it part of the present and
allowing it to affect every choice that we make.
Remember that our thoughts create our reality, when
we focus on the past, it becomes our reality and then
we make all of our decisions and choices from its
viewpoint. So if we are focused on the past, we are
making choices based on things that have already
happened. If our memory of what happened is difficult,
we can become paralyzed with doubt, fear and
confusion and make no choice at all (which is also a
choice). And, with our focus on the past, there is no
room for the present, much less the future.
We will never forget the past but we do not have to
make it part of the present. By using the lessons of the
past as a source of learning, we can draw from the
wellspring of information that it contains to make
different choices in the present and thus create a
different future. Within that process we must learn to
let go of our emotional attachment to the past's painful
memories and see them as they are, events in the flow
of our life.
Learning to let go of the past is difficult but it can be
done with a certain degree of patience and
perseverance. Each time a difficult memory of the past
presents itself, we can simply acknowledge it and let it
go, reminding ourselves that the past represents the
choices that we made within the context of our
mindset at that time; given the same set of
circumstances in the present, we would probably make
different choices, and we can, if we let the past go.
We are now presented with the opportunity to make
choices that can create the world of our dreams and a
reality that is beyond our wildest imaginings. But only if
we can make choices based on the present and forgive
the past. This week, look at the present and assess
whether events of the past are part of your current
reality. Forgive yourself for making the choices you did
then and remember that you now operate from a
different mindset and see life from a different
perspective. Can you make choices based on the reality
of the present? Allow yourself to remove the past from
your choices and watch how the number of choices
available to you increases and the outcome presents
you with miracles.

Mother's Day
As I write this it is Mother's Day in the U.S., a day
when we celebrate our mothers. It is a day to
celebrate the 'perfect mother', the woman who loves
unconditionally, who gives without expectation and who
is always kind, thoughtful and forgiving. That does not
describe the mother experience that most of us have
had and in that case it is difficult to say 'happy
mother's day' with integrity. But there is more to
mother's day than that and it can be a day of release,
forgiveness and closure.
Each of us had a mother and whether she is alive today
or not, no matter what our experience with her was,
she agreed to give us life, to bring us into the world.
For that, we can be grateful. She also agreed to help
us fulfill our soul contract and to prepare us for the life
lessons that we had to learn. For that too, we can be
grateful. And, she is part of our soul group, the souls
with whom we have karma and agreed, at the expense
of her own soul growth, to participate in our karmic
lessons and to provide us with situations that would set
up the opportunities for healing.
In the material, or third dimensional world, there is a
constant struggle to achieve perfection and we look for
it in everything, including in the relationships that we
have with our family. And especially with the people
from whom we have the greatest expectations,
including our parents, but especially our mother.
Society tells us that mothers are good, kind and loving
and holds each mother to an impossibly high standard.
And yet our experience of the 'mother' energy can be
anything but that. While that may be the truth of our
experience according to our perceptions, mothers are,
above all, spiritual beings, just like us and our
experience with them is part of our soul lesson. It is in
our power to apply healing and forgiveness to this
relationship, which does not mean that whatever
happened between us and our mother was OK, just
that we are no longer going to live within that energy
dynamic. When we can apply forgiveness to this
relationship, we heal it and give ourselves the gift of
closure so that we can move on.
As a mother, I love my children and yet there have
been days when I wondered why I chose motherhood
and now that my children are grown, look back on the
times when I fell short of that impossibly high standard
because I didn't know any better and could only base
my ability to mother on what I had learned from my
own mother. I have even had discussions with my
children where I asked for their forgiveness for the
times when I acted out of fear and anger, when I was
less kind, loving and forgiving than I could have been. I
also had to forgive my own mother for not
being 'perfect' and get closure that I needed to be able
to move on. It's time for us to forgive our mothers for
being 'human' and to see them as spiritually perfect.
Instead of celebrating the perceived perfection of
motherhood, we could celebrate Mother's Day with a
celebration of the feminine energy, which is in all of us,
men and women, and whose expression, in the spiritual
sense, is the embodiment of perfect and unconditional
love. Happy Mother's Day to everyone, everywhere,
because we all possess the feminine energy and we are
all capable of giving love, unconditionally, and
forgiveness to everyone in our lives, which is the true
embodiment of the feminine energy. And we should take
a moment to celebrate Mother Earth, the beautiful
planet on which we live, which nourishes and sustains
us all.

Uriel's Message
Today is the day to celebrate life, to appreciate who
you are and to love every aspect of your being. Why
today? Because today is the only day in which you live.
Today is the embodiment of everything that you are
capable of and the fulfillment of your every desire. Why
wait until tomorrow to see the expression of your
dreams? In the Universe, tomorrow does not exist
because everything exists in the present moment. It is
from each moment in the present that you create the
next step, create the next part of your reality. If you
are not in harmony with what is going on in your reality
today, tomorrow's reality will not be any different than
it is today.
Humanity has been fooled into thinking that planning for
the future is the most important activity that they can
engage in today. So many people work diligently to
save money and gain future security, thinking that it is
then, at some point in the future, that they will do the
things that they enjoy, that they can be happy, that
they can relax and enjoy life. But the time to do that is
now and today is the moment in which happiness,
abundance and security exists. Those who are
unhappy and dissatisfied today will also be unhappy and
dissatisfied tomorrow and in the future. There is
nothing that exists in your present reality that you
cannot change with the force of your intention, but not
if you believe that you will wait until some point in the
future to create a different reality.
If you knew that the best part of your life would be
whatever existed in your current reality, would you do
anything differently? If the answer to that question
is 'yes' then it is time to make some changes to what
you are creating for yourself. The energy to create
miracles, to create unlimited possibilities, exists for you
today. Use it well and know that each step leads to
another set of potential realities, opportunities to grow
and learn, to embrace joy, love, peace and
abundance. The Universe is infinite and so are you.
If you are unhappy with your present circumstances,
embrace your unhappiness and be glad that you have
experienced what you no longer want in your life. It is a
valuable lesson. Now, create the next step.
Disappointment, unhappiness, frustration and anger
have no place in the new energies that the Shift is
bringing to you. They are a sign that you are not
focused on your power to create new possibilities and
opportunities. Embrace everything that exists in your
life today, appreciate it, be grateful for the lessons,
and then move forward knowing that just as you had
the power to create those situations, you also have
the power to create new and different possibilities for
yourselves. This week, if there are situations that you
wish to change, begin changing them today. Embrace
them and learn their lessons, then move forward and
create each step on a pathway to a new reality where
your current reality is the perfect expression of your
life's perfection.

Today's Children-The Dark Side of the Indigo Energy
The new article on today's children is now available on
the website. This generation is known by
many names, including Indigo and Crystal Children, Star
Children, Light Children. Whatever name they are known
by, they are a generation that we have never seen
before and they have special needs, gifts and talents.
The Crystal and Indigo children represent the new,
higher energetic patterns that are arriving to change
the Earth's vibrational frequency.This new series
provides information on these children and the
wonderful gifts they bring to the world.
The wonderful creative energy and intuitive abilities of
the Indigo children can enable them to create the most
wonderful experiences for themselves and others. When
their energy is channeled in a positive direction, Indigo
children can effortlessly create miracles and be a
wonderful influence on the world. But, as the parents of
Indigo children know, there is a dark side to the Indigo
energy that can be very destructive and chaotic and
many Indigos walk a very fine line with their energy. It
does not take much to turn a loving, creative Indigo
child into something much worse and that change can
happen so quickly that parents are left wondering
whether some other child has moved into their home.
Indigo children are spiritually open and since they do
not have the maturity or knowledge to control their
spiritual energy, are easily influenced by the energies
around them. They are also, as I have written before,
extremely prone to addiction that includes all kinds of
addictive behaviors including the use of drugs and
alcohol. But they do not handle those substances well
and use them as a means of escaping a world in which
they feel different, lost and out of touch. They are at
greatest risk for this when they become teenagers and
even into their early adult years. Once they cross that
line into the darker side of their energy, it is very
difficult to pull them out of it. Indigos are also prone to
depression, which is not easily treated with anti-
depressive drugs. In fact, the use of anti-depressive
drugs can trigger their addictive tendencies and they
then have two problems-they are still depressed and
now they have an addiction problem.
Parents of Indigos are often desperate for answers
when this happens because their once loving children
become uncommunicative, disruptive and extremely
difficult to deal with. But there are solutions. Indigos
need outlets for their creative energy and benefit from
learning how to control their intuitive and spiritual
energy. They need to be around people who are a
positive influence and while it can be difficult to
encourage an uncooperative teen to participate in
activities when they do not want to, leaving them to
their own devices is not the answer and will only make
things worse. They may eventually 'grow out of it' but
in the meantime, they can make everyone's life
extremely difficult. Indigos respond to energy work well
and need a high level of supervision, even those who
are in their late teens. The problems that they exhibit
do not happen overnight and it is beneficial if
intervention is begun as soon as problems begin to
materialize. These can start as mild behavior problems,
falling grades in school, being around disruptive friends,
and drug or alcohol use. Indigos respond well to music
and the arts, areas that have been dropped from many
school curriculums. Overall, they need attention and
affirmation of their worth from their parents, peers and
communities, which today's society is not likely to give.
Parents of Indigos do not have an easy time with their
children now, but the problems can be overcome and
efforts that do not show results simply mean that they
do not work for that child. Remember that Indigos are
unique and the 'tried and true' solutions used in the
past will often not work with them, neither will a 'cookie
cutter' approach. Indigos will get through this
difficult period, but they need our help to do it. And
eventually, they will and once again, the promise and
potential of the Indigo energy will be apparent. If you
have an Indigo child and are suffering through problems
with them, please do not give up on them. They will
eventually come through these problems, but they will
do it with your help and with some degree of effort. Try
energy work, such as Reikki and QuiGong, with them.
Both are very effective with the Indigo energy and will
help them to control their energy and once again
become the loving beings that they once were.
