Your Emotional Investment
As we progress on our spiritual path we can choose
the level of ease or difficulty of each step we take.
When we take the difficult path we struggle and suffer
through each experience. With the easy path we are
able to remember our divinity and choose how we will
participate in the various lessons we are presented
with. One of the ways we make this choice is through
our level of emotional investment in a situation.
Whether we are aware of it or not, it has the power to
affect what we experience, how much pain we will
accept, how long we are willing to stay in the
experience and the outcome that we can anticipate.
Every situation that we participate in has a level of
emotional investment. Whether we want someone to
love us, to be successful in our career, get along with
our friends or be accepted by our family we are
looking for a certain emotional outcome from the
situation and we will work hard to ensure that we
achieve our payoff, which can be love, appreciation,
value, acceptance, to be heard, to be acknowledged-
the list is very long. When our level of emotional
investment is high, we create a situation where we are
so attached to the outcome that we will do anything to
ensure that we are successful in meeting our goal.
And we resist anything that does not give us that
outcome.
With a high level of emotional investment our path can
be extremely difficult because we find ourselves
struggling to 'make things happen'. And we are doing
that because we are so attached to the outcome that
we don't see any other possibilities, we are not able to
step back, let go and allow events to unfold in the way
that is divinely perfect. We want to 'win' at all costs, no
matter what the cost is. Until we realize that it is our
emotional investment that keeps us in the situation,
we will keep on fighting for the outcome that will make
us feel better about ourselves, the situation, our life,
our power and our value.
Taking the path of least resistance challenges us to
monitor our level of emotional investment in every
situation. If we do not know what that is, our lessons
will show us. The more we resist a situation, the
greater our level of emotional investment. It is hard to
let go when we want a particular outcome but our
inability to let go is a reflection of our fear. When we let
go of a desired outcome we allow the Universe to
bring us something more wonderful than we can
imagine, decrease or remove the influence of our
emotional investment and set our course for the
easier path of least resistance.

Can You Hear Me Now?
We all have cell phones and are familiar with the
experience of dropped calls or poor reception. 'Can
you hear me now' is a phrase that we have all used
from time to time, to confirm that the person we are
speaking to can hear us. What we are doing is
ensuring that we are still connected, having a
conversation and that they are able to hear us. What
would happen if we could apply this to all of our
conversations? Would there be as many
misinterpreted messages or misunderstandings?
What if we could be certain that everyone we spoke to
heard what we said as we intended it?
Of course it would be silly to stop in the middle of a
conversation and ask someone 'can you hear me
now'? But in a different context, that is not such a silly
idea. Do we stop to think whether the person we are
taking to has the same level of understanding of a
situation that we do? Are they ready to hear what we
are saying? Each of us interprets messages through
our filters of beliefs and past experiences. Unless we
know someone well, those filters are a mystery to us.
So many times we speak to someone and what they
take away from the conversation may be completely
different than what we actually said.
These misunderstandings appear to be simple but
can lead to much bigger problems. For example,
telling someone you love them may be a wonderful gift
in your world. But if their experience of love is abuse,
abandonment and pain, then you have just given them
a gift that they may not be ready to accept. They may
reject your love and you will feel bad. But they didn't
hear you in your way, they heard you in theirs. Maybe
they will be ready to hear your message, in the way
you intended it, at a later time. Right now, they can't
hear you in the way you would like them to.
Communication can seem like such a simple
process but it can be very complicated. If we consider
whether someone can actually 'hear' us, meaning that
they are ready to hear what we are saying, will
interpret it in the way we intended it and are open to
receiving the information we are offering, we can avoid
being hurt or upset by an unexpected response.
Considering whether someone can actually 'hear' us
is a way of honoring another's path and where they
are on their spiritual journey. And it will enable us to
share information with them that they are able to hear.

Uriel's Message-- Be Confident
Each of you has a special gift or talent that is your
contribution to the world. This gift is part of everything
that you do in your life, from your job to relationships to
the choices that you make. Your gift may be in the arts,
communication, writing, your ability to inspire others,
being a wonderful friend or parent, there are as many
different kinds of gifts as there are people in the world.
Your gift is unique and your confidence in it creates
opportunities for its expression.
Your biggest downfall is when you compare your gift
with that of others. While many may share a gift, no
two people share the same gift in the same way. Each
person will have a unique way of creating from their
gift, sharing it with others and connecting with those
who need or appreciate it. But when you are not
confident that you have the right gift, or you cannot
express it as well as someone else you create doubt
in your abilities and do not trust in yourself.
Divine timing is particularly important at this time and
the opportunities for you to use your gifts to their fullest
extent will happen at the right time. This is a process
of unfolding, of your being willing to respond to and
accept opportunities that are placed before you. When
you move outside of divine timing, imposing your will,
you create a vacuum that is filled with disappointment
because you are operating in fear. Then things do not
work out as you hoped and you lose confidence.
Confidence requires faith and trust, knowing that you
have been created in perfection, and that includes
your gifts and how their expression manifests in your
life. As you grow in confidence you will be presented
with opportunities that match your confidence level.
Each new level creates a challenge for you to be more
confident. Your gifts are a special blessing to you and
the world. Be confident in them, know that how you
express them is perfect for you. Resist the urge to
compare them and yourself with others. Remember
that divine timing is always at work in every area of
your life and know that when you are confident you
invite great and wonderful opportunities for you to use
your gifts in the most perfect way and at the most
perfect time.

Today's Children--Grandparents
As a child I felt that the only people who understood
and accepted me were my grandparents. Around
them I could be myself, express my energy and felt
unconditionally loved. Grandparents play a special
role in the lives of Indigo and Crystal children and
today grandparents are often asked to take on the role
of raising their grandchildren. This is seen as a social
problem but it has a very special purpose in these
children's lives. Grandparents are the ones who can
give them the love, support, time and energy that they
need when their parents can't.
Indigos and Crystals need a great deal of patience
and attention from their parents. They also need to
have an experiential understanding of the problems
that they came to resolve. And many of them learn of
these problems through their parents, which is why
there is so much more attention given to the problems
of drugs, alcohol, abuse and neglect by parents. We
learn through experience and this is especially true for
Indigos. Those who have difficult, even horrible home
lives are learning about what they came to change.
Many Indigos and Crystals have close relationships
with their grandparents and see them as a shining
light and a source of strength. Grandparents who are
very close to their Indigo and Crystal grandchildren
should know that the bond is there so that they can
give them the support they need to remind them that
despite the problems in the world, love does indeed
exist. And they need to experience that love from
someone. Their grandparent is also probably a
lightworker too, which is why the bonds between
grandparents and Indigo and Crystal grandchildren
are so close.
If you are a grandparent who is very close to or raising
your Indigo or Crystal grandchildren, you are an
important part of their life. You are there to remind
them of their power, of their connection and of the
unconditional love that exists in the world, even if it
has been hidden from them. Whatever they
experienced, no matter how terrible it was, they have
come here to transform the world and they needed to
learn by experience. You have been put into their lives
to give them the gift of love, acceptance,
acknowledgement and support. You do your work by
being present for them, being the one who listens, the
one they can turn to and who is a source of love in a
world that seems, to them, to not always be loving.
Even if they don't tell you, they love and appreciate you
and you make a huge difference in their lives.
