Moving Past the Past
When we deal with the past and see it for what it is
and for what it has been to us for many years, what
we are left with is doubt and confusion. When we
unravel the past and acknowledge its role in the
present and then dissect its many beliefs, we can
quickly come to realize that we have based much of our
lives on things that simply were not true, or were not
as powerful as we once believed them to be. So what
happens next? How do we define our next steps if the
foundation of our lives is now not there any more? Even
if the past is uncomfortable, it is a known quantity.
Creating a new future, one step at a time, can be
frightening when we have nothing on which to base it.
The question that we are faced with is not 'what am I
going to do next,' but 'what is going to happen next'.
Because when we move away from the past, the future
is no longer predictable.
Not knowing what to do next is often what stops many
of us from making changes in any area of our lives.
When we have done things the same way for a very
long time and suddenly have the opportunity to do
things differently, we are faced with the concepts of
freedom and power. Very powerful concepts, but also
very challenging. Arriving at the point where we realize
that everything in our lives is under our own control is
both empowering and frightening. Not having the past
on which to base our actions or decisions always brings
us to the same place-what happens next? If the
familiar is no longer an option, we are faced with the
unknown. And who wants to deal with the unknown all
of the time?
As the saying goes, 'the longest journey begins with
the first step' and so it is when we make the decision
to release ourselves from the grip of the past. Once we
learn to move past the past we can take small steps
into a different future. And the operative word here is
small. We do not have to drastically change our lives in
a single day, nor do we have to dismantle everything
that we have done in the blink of an eye. But we do
have to take that first step. All the Universe ever asks
of us is that we are present in the moment, that
we 'show up' for new experiences. This means that we
become willing to walk through the doorways that open
up for us, trusting that in that moment it is the right
thing for us to do. Too often, when we break our ties
with the past we tend to look at the future in terms
of 'always' or 'never'. For example, if we end a
challenging relationship, we could fear that we
will 'never' have another one. Or if we try something
new we know that this effort 'always' turns out a
certain way, based on our past experiences. But this is
what brings the past into the future and it is what we
are changing when we make a decision to move past
the past.
So as we move past the past we are faced with
opportunities to do things differently. What does that
mean? Remember that our Shift experience is our own
and that each of us has a different experience, so
moving past the past means something different for
each of us, even for those people who are part of our
past. For some, it may mean saying 'no' with
conviction, or saying 'yes' to living life with passion and
confidence. For others, it may mean leaving old,
destructive habits behind and yet others, creating new
lifestyles or ways of being. Each and all of these things
is a possibility for us once we learn to move past the
past, to give ourselves a chance to experience new
blessings and to move through life fearlessly and with
confidence, knowing that there are no mistakes in the
Universe, only choices that can always be 'unchosen.'
The past will always be part of our lives, part of what
we once did, who we once were and how we once felt
or acted. When we move past it, we can focus on what
we are doing now, today, in this moment, who we are
and how we create a life of joy and abundance.

Blessings to you all!
This is the one year anniversary of the Uriel Heals
newsletter. One year ago today, I wrote the first
edition, moving past my fear and hesitation and writing
for an audience of three, including me. Today the
newsletters goes to an audience of thousands, all over
the world, connecting all of you to Archangel Uriel's
healing energy. I want to thank all of you for being part
of its reading community.
The February article is posted on the Uriel Heals
website and this month's message is about how to
remember the past. In this week's article, we look at
how to 'move past the past'. Empowering ourselves by
healing the past puts us in the position of asking 'what
will happen next'. And that can be a scary place to be.
This week's Today's Children article discusses the
challenges of the Indigo adults and children.
I would like to welcome all of our new subscribers and
thank you for joining the Uriel Heals Newsletter. All
newsletters and articles are archived on the Uriel Heals
website on the 'Archives' page. The subscriber list
grows every day and your continuing words of support,
encouragement and appreciation are appreciated.

Second Chances
So many of our life situations, including relationships,
are resurrected by second chances, where we try, one
more time, to 'make things work.' Sometimes a second
chance is an opportunity for us to realize that a
situation will not work out, no matter how hard we try.
In these situations, a second chance provides us with
closure, which we must learn to accept with grace and
trust, knowing that we are not always aware of the
intimate workings of the Universe. Second chances can
allow us to resolve karmic issues with finality, releasing
us from their grasp. At other times, second chances
provide us with opportunities to apply our learning and
knowledge to create different outcomes for ourselves
and with others. With every life experience, we must
remember that we share the experience with everyone
who is part of it and each person has a different
perspective on what that experience is.
No one is right and no one is wrong-each of us is
merely having an experience based on our perception of
reality. In many cases, living through a second chance
shows us that we were right to abandon the situation
in the first place. And that can be freeing, even though
with freedom may also come a certain amount of regret
for what 'could have been. This is what I call living in
the land of 'I wish things had been different' and it can
cause us to create many 'second chance' situations
that can take our attention off the present and try to
recapture a mood, feeling or experience from the past.
But second chances are not something that we give
exclusively to others-when we decide to do something
differently, we are also giving ourselves a second
chance.
As we go through the Shift many of us are being
provided with chances to re-experience old situations.
This time, however, we are armed with the knowledge
and learning that we have accumulated through our
Shift experiences. This knowledge allows us to identify
the experience as a 'second chance' opportunity. Now
we have to ask some questions-do we want to do this
again, is this situation of any value to us in the present
moment, are we doing this for ourselves or for the
benefit of others? We are often far more generous in
providing second chances to others than we are to
ourselves. By providing a second chance to others, we
can give them the opportunity to 'make things right'
between us. Our challenge is to create 'second chance'
experiences, if that is what we choose to do, without
expectations of the outcome that we would like to
see. So when we ask ourselves if the situation is of
value to us, we are really looking at it in terms of
several issues, our expectations and our spiritual
growth. In terms of our expectations, do we want
something specific out of this situation? Does the
situation contribute to our spiritual growth or are we
just repeating old lessons and patterns that will only
bring us pain and take us on perhaps yet another
emotional detour? And if we focus on how things could
have been different, we forget that in a former time,
we were also a different person. The Shift has changed
us irrevocably and we must learn to move forward now,
leaving the past behind because we are different and
we cannot re-live the past or change it.
That is not to say that every second chance will end in
disaster, but that we must learn to choose where we
put our energy and focus. The Shift is all about new
beginnings and new opportunities. Resurrecting the
past is not always a guarantee of success and what
didn't work once may not work again. Are we willing to
forego those experiences so that we do not take steps
backward on our journey towards spiritual wholeness?
That is something that we must decide for ourselves.
And, often the act of saying 'no' to one situation
suddenly creates another where we do not have to go
through the pain and drama that we once were part of.
But we are not given that view into the future because
we must respond to each situation with faith and trust,
knowing that we are always protected and provided
with the tools that we need to face each situation that
we are presented with. When we face them with
discernment and detachment, we learn that living in the
land of 'I wish things had been different' is no longer an
attractive option. Things are what they are and we
have a chance, every day, to create the life that we
want to live. When we can do that, we give ourselves
a 'second chance' every day, to be the person that we
want to be and to live in the peace, joy and abundance
that is our birthright.

Uriel's Message
So many lightworkers today have a longing to 'go
home,' to reconnect with their spiritual birthplace, to
return to the place where they feel a sense of
belonging, acceptance and love. And as the veil that
separates the material and spiritual world becomes
thinner, as it is during this time of the Shift, many of
you will feel that longing to a greater degree. It is a
longing that is difficult to resolve because you no
longer see the world as you once did. You are now able
to recognize the drama and materialism of the third
dimension and because you have agreed to Shift your
consciousness, can no longer participate in it. So where
do you feel comfortable and how do you reconcile the
new emotional and spiritual you with the world around
you? And when can you go home?
The removal of the veil between the material and the
spiritual is one of the purposes of the Shift. Shifting in
consciousness is about changing humanity's focus on
where it fits in the Universe. For eons, humanity has
completed separated itself from the spiritual world and
it felt very alone and isolated. From this belief system
came the concept of a vengeful and unforgiving God
who caused humanity's misery. There was a strong
belief in heaven and hell. The lifting of this
veil, or the separation between the spiritual and the
material, is allowing humanity to reconnect with its
spiritual Source. And this means that humanity can
finally 'go home.' For it is not in death that you return
to your spiritual roots, although that is one way that
this happens, it is also possible to do while you live on
the Earth plane. It is all a matter of how you view your
separation from the Source and find ways to re-
establish that connection.
Each of you is important to this process because when
even one person lifts their vibrations they create a
resonance in the entire third dimension that helps many
others to life their vibrations as well. It will not take the
effort and commitment of each and every person on
the earth to make this happen. It is already happening.
Those of you who came here to be lightworkers and to
begin this process have created the dynamic and the
veil is thinning quite rapidly. So 'home' is available to
you right now, even when you feel the most alone and
disconnected. The veil only exists in your own
consciousness. Indeed, the spiritual world has not
moved or changed; it is humanity that is moving closer
to the spiritual, not the spiritual that is moving closer
to humanity.
Going 'home' is available to you right now, as is finding
that peace and sense of belonging that you feel is
missing from your lives as you struggle with the third
dimension. Know that all you have to do is to remember
that you emanated from the Source and it is part of
you. See past the veil and allow it to be lifted so that
the spiritual world is ever present in your daily lives.
Then you will feel the sense of peace and boundless joy
and love that is an integral component of your spiritual
self. This is an energy that you can connect with at
any time, simply by focusing your consciousness on its
presence that is always all around you. Suddenly, you
will not feel so alone or disconnected and you will be
better able to navigate the material world from a
spiritual perspective, which is your true place in the
Universe.

Today's Children-The Challenges of Indigo
The new article on today's children is now available on
the website. This month's article is about the truth
that these children are revealing to us about ourselves,
our lives and our world. This generation is known by
many names, including Indigo and Crystal Children, Star
Children, Light Children. Whatever name they are known
by, they are a generation that we have never seen
before and they have special needs, gifts and talents.
The Crystal and Indigo children represent the new,
higher energetic patterns that are arriving to change
the Earth's vibrational frequency. This new series
provides information on these children and the
wonderful gifts they bring to the world.
Indigos are a generation that has come to create a
new world order and they have all of the tools with
which to do their work. They are a generation of far-
sighted, dedicated, committed and purposeful people
who know their mission and who will do what it takes to
carry it out. Indigos are not only the generation of
children who are approaching adulthood at this time.
There are many who came before them who carry the
Indigo energy and who began that process in the 1960s
and 1970s. These early Indigos are the parents of many
of today's Indigo children and they have the same tools
as the current Indigo and can often suffer the same
challenges as this generation does. The challenges of
Indigos lie in their inability to accept the status quo
and to accept others' truth as theirs. Most of them
have to experience life situations before they will
accept them. So when we, as parents, try to impart
our knowledge to our Indigo children and prevent them
from experiencing the pain and frustration of certain life
situations, they look at us (with disbelief; after all,
what do we know about being teenagers or young
adults) and do it anyway. They have to do everything
for themselves.
It can be very difficult to watch our children create
drama in their lives and then resist the temptation to
say 'I told you so' when things turn out exactly as we
knew they would. And resist we must. Indigos have
much to learn about human emotions and experiences
and it is only by experiencing them that they can learn
from them. The challenge for them on a personal level
is their absolute belief in their ability to make things
different or better and then coming to the realization
that 'things are the way they are' and often they are
powerless to change the world. But that does not
daunt them in the least and they merely pick
themselves up and keep moving forward. But for all of
their bravado, Indigos are very kind hearted and suffer
a great deal in the face of injustice, tyranny and the
general unfairness of today's world. They want to make
things better for everyone, not just for themselves. A
huge challenge for Indigos at the moment is the
changing social system, especially in the U.S., which
has become increasingly rigid. Schools are now run like
corporations, with no time for creative pursuits,
students must pass tests to graduate and are
constantly challenged to meet increasingly difficult
standards. There is constant pressure to get into
the 'right' university, learn more and more and conform
to a rigid structure in which individuality and
compassion have no presence. This is a system that is
completely counter to the Indigo energy of adults and
children and it only acts to stifle their greatest gifts,
their individuality and sense of personal empowerment.
As parents of Indigos we should be concerned with
what is happening in our school systems and our
society at large. For we are being subtly led into
accepting this new rigid social structure and it
disempowers us all. Our Indigo struggle with this
structure because it is completely counter to their
energy and their inability to work within these
environments is a signal to us that something is wrong
with the system, not with them. To help our Indigo
children with their work we can them how to pick their
battles and to take small steps instead of jumping into
things with both feet and their eyes closed. As parents
of Indigos our biggest challenge is to let them
experience what they need to while being supportive
and understanding. They need for us to provide a safe
place to return to, one where they are accepted and
can have time to regroup before they move on to their
next challenge. Indigos can be the masters of second
chances, where they will try something again and
again, in the hope that they can fix it or make it better.
We can help them by listening to their frustration,
offering our own spiritual understanding and
then waiting patiently until they can assimilate the
experience and the understanding and make different
choices. The adults who carry the Indigo energy can
focus their efforts on being part of the energetic
movement that is bringing change to these systems.
Eventually, life will not be as difficult for Indigos and
indeed, it is changing already. They benefit from having
connections to each other, through the Internet and
ever-present cell phones, and will make progress as
they work to change the systems in preparation for the
next generation of special children, the Crystals.
