Acceptance in Enlightenment
Enlightenment is the purpose of our spiritual journey
and it is a process we experience every day of our life.
Through it our soul learns, grows and heals and we
reconnect to the divinity that we all carry within us. But
enlightenment has been defined as the attainment of
great spiritual mastery unless we attain that level we
do not believe that we have achieved enlightenment.
When are we enlightened? How do we know that we
are and when is it obvious to us? Can we accept
enlightenment as our own, individual spiritual
mastery? The answers to those questions are, like
most spiritual matters, very simple.
By defining enlightenment as the attainment of
mastery and then defining mastery as some exalted
state of being most of us believe that it is out of our
reach. How can we, in our humanity, become spiritual
masters? That concept brings to mind spiritual
perfection, at the level of an avatar, being more
spiritual than human. Few of us can envision that level
of being so does this mean we won't be enlightened?
But that isn't the case because enlightenment, like
every part of our journey, is an individual process. And
spiritual mastery, at our individual and personal level,
is available at every step of our journey.
Part of enlightenment is acceptance of who we are,
our lessons, our journey, the healing that we have to
do and the growth that we have come to achieve. For
many of us, acknowledging our Source connection is
an enlightening moment. We have experienced
lifetimes in order to reach that stage in our spiritual
evolution. Being aware of our divinity is another
enlightening moment, as is realizing a lesson and
why we have to learn it. Whatever we master in our
lifetime is cause for celebration-who knows how
long it has taken us to achieve it.
When know we are enlightened when we feel at
peace with ourselves, when we can review our life to
date and accept ourselves for who we are and be
proud of what we have achieved. If we view
enlightenment from a soul level, what can seem to be
the smallest, most insignificant lesson can be an
enormous achievement in enlightenment, one that we
have taken many lifetimes to learn. This week, find an
area in your life where you have achieved
enlightenment. It may be a lesson you have finally
achieved, learning gratitude, taking responsibility for
yourself and your reality, or wherever you feel you have
gained some level of spiritual growth. Congratulate
yourself on achieving enlightenment and
acknowledge your spiritual mastery. Then take a
moment to know that you are enlightened, celebrate
yourself and get ready for the next step on your journey.

The Value of Resistance
I have been providing spiritual readings and
consultations for many years and once in a while I
have a client who argues with me and resists all of the
information they are given. This can be frustrating
because I can only deliver the information that I am
given and when the client tells me I'm wrong or they
don't want to hear what they are being told, I don't
have any other way of reaching them other than to
remind them of the value of their resistance.
Resistance has a great deal to teach us as it points
the way to our blocks, fears and where we need to
heal.
What we resist is what we don't want to hear, listen to,
acknowledge or pay attention to. It is where we have
our blinders on, where we are afraid to look out of fear
that our worst fears will be realized. It is often the
place where we feel most powerless and out of
control. We often resist the truth, not because of the
truth itself but what we will be afraid the truth will be.
And yet by resisting we miss our greatest
opportunities because the key to understanding
ourselves lies in what we resist.
I had a friend whose husband was unfaithful to her for
the duration of their twenty year marriage. Everyone
knew about his activities, except her, although I
believe she secretly suspected. No one told her and
she never discussed it. When he finally asked for a
divorce, she was devastated and had to face the truth
that she had resisted for so long. Did resisting it make
him faithful in her eyes? Would knowing the truth
make her feel unworthy of a loving, faithful partner?
She is still angry and bitter and has had trouble
finding a new relationship. Had she not resisted the
truth perhaps she could have ended the relationship
on her terms and found a new partner who could be
faithful to her.
There is great value in knowing what we resist and I
have learned over the years that when a client resists
the information they are given the purpose of the
reading is to show them their areas of resistance.
They can use this information to understand what is
blocking their joy and progress and use it to move
forward on their path. But they will be ready to remove
their resistance to the truth at the right time. Others
can merely help to open the door to understanding for
us; we have to walk through it when we are ready.
Where we resist is where we are afraid, unsure,
powerless and feel out of control. There is much value
in knowing this and our resistance often holds the key
to our happiness and enlightenment.

Uriel's Message-- The Gift of Peace of Mind
Your mind is at peace when it acknowledges the
presence of Spirit and is willing to work in harmony
with it. Your mind is at war when it is in fear and wants
to be in total control. It is your natural state to be in
material and spiritual balance and this is when you
can be in the flow of the Universal energy and in
alignment with your soul purpose. The gift of peace of
mind comes when you acknowledge your divinity and
live without judgment and in unconditional love. This
is a gift you can give to yourself and to others. Peace
of mind is a gift that benefits each of you and all of
humanity.
You give others the gift of peace of mind when they
can be in relationship with you without conflict or
drama. Can drama exist if the mind is not in fear? Can
chaos exist if you know that all is well? When there is
no fear of disapproval, lack of love, not having
expectations met or judgment what can the mind do
but be at peace? If each person has nothing to fear
from others they can focus on their path. It is the
mind's job to protect you from harm and it does so by
anticipating fear. If there is no fear, the mind must
change its focus.
Without a partnership with Spirit the mind must meet
the world alone and the only information it has is the
memory of what it must guard against and protect you
from. The mind's greatest fear is that it will lose
control but when you know that you are in control of
your reality, the mind can be at peace. Then you
energy moves from anticipation to creation, from the
past to the present. Peace of mind exists in the
present moment because all fear is from the past.
How can you fear what has not yet happened?
Without peace of mind you are constantly at war with
yourself and others. Each of you then stands in your
reality, protecting your territory from what others might
do. Yet you are fighting against something that has not
yet happened. This week, give yourself and others the
gift of peace of mind. See yourself and each person
as a divine spiritual being. Have compassion for
yourself and everyone you encounter. Live in each
moment and enjoy the wonder and beauty of life, of
Spirit and your journey. Be grateful for each experience
and be open to the unlimited possibilities that are
yours when you have peace of mind.

Today's Children--Special Needs Children
I speak with many people who work with Indigo and
Crystal children. Some are teachers who work
with 'special needs children'. These are children who
do not fit the standard criteria of performance and
learning as defined by school districts so they are
placed in special programs that allow them to learn at
their level. While I am glad to see that schools are
addressing this issue and providing for children (as a
result of battles fought by many parents) who have
different requirements than others but I wonder why
they are called 'special needs'. Doesn't each child
have special needs and why are these children
singled out?
This is an issue I am familiar with because my older
Indigo son was in special needs classes for many
years. Because he was hyperactive and had ADD he
could not perform in a classroom where he was
expected to sit still. He had an auditory processing
problem that required a different delivery system than
simply listening to the teacher. Unfortunately, the other
children ridiculed him for being in these special
classes and called him stupid because they thought
he was not as smart as they were, which was not true.
We know that Indigos and Crystals are different from
other children and Indigos struggled with standard
classroom procedures and processes because of
their different ways of learning. The situation is even
more acute with Crystal children, many of whom are
already in special needs classes. I wonder if the
number of special needs classes required to serve
these children will become so great that the 'special
needs' curriculum will have to become mainstream.
Then what will they call children who can't learn in the
ways school districts think they should?
This is part of the change that is occurring all around
us, introduced by the Indigos and carried forward by
the Crystals. It is uncovering so many layers of
judgment, labeling and assumptions that it will take
time to realize what has to change and then put
systems in place that address the different levels of
learning for each new generation. And each level of
change will uncover another layer that requires
attention. It is a process that we can nurture and be
part of, knowing that each of us is here to help the
change move in a forward, consistent direction. And
let's recognize the educators who diligently, tirelessly
and lovingly work with these children to help them
excel. They are doing great work.
